About Us

The Center for Prevention and Outreach (CPO) offers a wide range of programs and services aimed at educating students on health and wellness topics, empowering them to make healthy decisions. Topics include mental health and suicide prevention, alcohol and other drugs, healthy relationships, sexual violence prevention and physical health. CPO focuses on prevention and early intervention, and strives to provide knowledge and resources to individuals so they can take care of themselves. 


Our Mission

Provides students and the campus community with prevention, early intervention, education and outreach services around the public health concerns impacting college students, including but not limited to, substance abuse, mental health and sexual and interpersonal violence.   We use a data driven public health approach to make population based sustainable changes in the community that reduce harm and foster a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.


Our Vision

To create an environment that empowers student well-being  through progressive solutions fostering self-determination and a culture of care. Strengthen data-informed environmental prevention strategies to reduce risks and enhance protective factors that allow  students to flourish in a safe and supportive environment.
