Graduate General Information

The Department of Psychology offers graduate training in four areas of study:

Integrative Neuroscience

Clinical Psychology

Cognitive Science (Cognitive Psychology)

Social & Health Psychology

The main objective of each area is to train researchers who are committed to furthering the scientific study of psychology.

Our graduate programs have as their foundation rigorous training in science and research. Students are admitted to work with a faculty mentor and are trained to conduct independent research. Collaboration with other labs is welcomed to foster development of expertise in areas relevant to each student's interests.

Graduates from the program are prepared for careers in academic and applied settings, including universities, colleges, medical centers, hospitals, clinics, research and governmental organizations, and business and industry.

The Psychology Department respects and values diversity. We view diversity broadly, including (but not limited to) age, race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion, and ability status. Diversity in our student body is an important priority and contributes to the strength of our department.

The Psychology Department accepts applications for its 4 Ph.D. programs and for the Master's (M.A.) Program. Most information on this site pertains to requirements for the Ph.D. programs. For further information about the M.A. Program, contact the Master’s Program Advisor.
