NEWS RELEASE: NEW YORK’S CLEAN ENERGY ECONOMY TO BE SHOWCASED AT NEW YORK HILTON Advanced Energy Conference, Nov. 8-9 in NYC, to Spotlight Cutting-Edge Technologies for Clean Energy Jobs and a Growing Economy

STONY BROOK, NY, October 18, 2010 – The continued growth of New York's Clean Energy Economy will be on display November 8-9 at the Advanced Energy Conference at the Hilton New York in New York City.

In one of the largest such events in the country, more than 100 Clean Energy businesses from across New York will participate in the conference, produced by the Advanced Energy Research Technology Center (AERTC) at Stony Brook University.

The conference will feature presentations by national experts in clean energy technologies and present both technologies and business models that demonstrate New York's growing leadership in clean-tech industries.

"The Advanced Energy Conference will showcase the policies, resources and funding that make New York a great place for entrepreneurs to grow clean energy businesses,” said someone from AERTC. "This conference will highlight the success stories that have made New York a leader in the clean energy economy nationwide, as well as companies that promise to transform the clean energy marketplace in the future."

Clean energy technologies have been demonstrated to be a critical sector in fostering economic growth.

Speakers will include representatives of the New York Energy Research and Development Authority, the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center, General Electric, the New York Power Authority, and others.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Innovation and entrepreneurship;
  • Energy storage options for transportation;
  • Pathways toward a low-carbon society;
  • Climate change impacts and adaptation strategies;
  • Utility scale solar geothermal power;
  • Advanced lighting systems; and,
  • Green building technology systems, among others.


The Advanced Energy Conference, now in its fourth year, is produced by the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center (AERTC) at Stony Brook University.
