Funding: Leverage NYS Resources

  • Person using calculator and laptopProjects leverage the scientific and technical expertise at Stony Brook University and Brookhaven National Laboratory
  • Every CIEES project aims to maximize economic impact on the NY State economy
    • For example, Center projects seek to create new jobs in NY State, develop new products or services for industry partners, increase company revenue and enable our partners to obtain additional funding (private or government)
  • If an industry partner has a NYS presence:
    • CIEES cost share against company contribution is possible
    • CIEES offers a reduced indirect rate of 15%
  • CIEES funding source for the cash contribution is Empire State Development's Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR). Therefore, the funding can be used only in furtherance of the project, and only on the following categories of expenditures: salaries, fringe benefits, material and supplies
